Anna’s Vision Board 2013

Probably one of the most therapeutic activities is the tearing of paper. It has ever such a calming effect on me. And together with catching glimpses of colourful pictures and meaningful words, which suddenly appear to make sense once they are stuck together in merry array on a board, I create a vision board, with the intention to help my mind visualise and put thoughts into action to create my reality.

collage

Today I met with my two fellow retreat facilitators to create such vision board for our Awareness Spa. We each put together individual collages representing our ideas, dreams, hopes and future possibilities. The above is my board. And I have to say I really am in love with it. It just has such a lovely feel about it. All my dreams and intentions put together right in front of me.

naturaltime

“Heal the world.” I have been adamant for quite some time that I was born to save the world. Here is my statement, which I will carry forth in order to manifest itself for the future to come. “The Magic of Awareness” is very apt since our Mini Retreats bear the name “Awareness Spa”, aiming to raise awareness and to show others that life can be lived in a more natural and simple way. “My mind is luminous and empty”, isn’t that just a lovely calming expression? And of course, the tiny word “perfect” had to fit in just perfectly, for that is what it is. Just the way it is supposed to be. And of course there is always more to be discovered.

life

This is a question that concerns most people. “Where does life’s journey lead us, and how do we know that we are on the right path?” We won’t know. But it also doesn’t matter whether it is the right or wrong path, since each will teach us something about life that will be of value. That’s what life is. A continuous journey along different pathways, each revealing its riddles and hidden meanings when we are ready to embrace them.

change

Embracing life is to embrace change. Without change, there is no life. Change begins with a single thought. We choose our thoughts based on our past and present reality. Sometimes we don’t realise that our future mirrors our past, because we haven’t yet fully come to terms with it. When we become aware of this process we can change it and create a future that fully supports our every need.

dream

“A life free of fear, pain, insecurity and doubt is not only possible, it’s our birth right. Open your heart and dream! This indeed is proper food for our soul”. Create a vision, dream and work to make it reality. There is no end to your thoughts and ideas.

healing

“Intentional change based on love creates healing.” There are many tools that can support the process of change and healing. I work with Subtle Energy Healing and Acupressure Massage and also use a Tibetan Singing Bowl at times to help the mind focus and to allow sound to carry out its own healing work.

healing2

Let this be the season of awakening to your very own healing power that lies within you. You are change, you are love and you are full of power and strength. You just have to follow your dream!

thinkbig2

“Think big!” You can be and do anything you like! Don’t let your potential go to waste because you don’t think you can make it very far. Even if others don’t support your dreams. Who are they to tell you that you aren’t good enough?! Ask them the same. What experiences and thought processes are stopping you and those around you to achieve your full potential? Once you have found them, change them!

feeling

“The beautiful energy of thoughts.” Energy does follow thought; this is the basic law of attraction. Choose a path of peace and add a personal touch. Show your personality, your individuality, your feelings. Smile – it makes the transitions in life so much easier. The lady on the photo is Chân Không, an expatriate Vietnamese Buddhist nun and peace activist, who has worked closely with Thich Nhat Hanh in the creation of Plum Village. I didn’t know who she was when I tore her smiling face out of a magazine but I felt so drawn to her that I included her in my collage. She seem so down to earth, everything about her radiates simplicity and calmness. When I looked her up just now and realised her connection to Thich Nhat Hanh, it almost feels like something is round the corner, because him I had looked up only yesterday and had already quoted him on our website here:

“From time to time, to remind ourselves to relax and be peaceful, we may wish to set aside some time for a retreat, a day of mindfulness, when we can walk slowly, smile, drink tea with a friend, enjoy being together as if we are the happiest people on Earth.”

  2. Hi there! This post couldn’t be written much better! Looking through this post reminds me of my previous roommate! He constantly kept preaching about this. I most certainly will forward this information to him. Fairly certain he’s going to have a very good read. Thanks for sharing!
